Costco’s giant chocolate bunny is pretty pricey
If you think the “go big or go home” ethos should apply to Easter candy, Costco’s giant chocolate bunny can help. The warehouse retailer is currently selling a 10-pound chocolate bunny for $140, and it would be putting things mildly to say it’s controversial.
A photo shared to the Costco subreddit is racking up comments, many of them about the price tag.

“Way too expensive for poor-quality chocolate,” one shopper wrote. Another added, “Def it’s a showy gift for grandchildren, nieces.” But one has the right idea: “If you get two, and mate them, it can pay off.”

As for how you actually consume a rabbit this size, well, luckily the box offers instructions — and the answer is not “take a bite.” The box says to “wrap Pete in a towel and give one bold whack with a mallet, hammer or rolling pin.” Alternatively, you can slice him apart with a “serrated bread knife” that’s been warmed up with hot water and then dried off.
“Ears or feet first is up to you,” the box cheekily adds.
If you’re not ready to bring tools into your candy-eating experience, there are still plenty of Easter chocolates that feel festive without requiring protective eyewear. Here are a few options that keep things delicious and a little more manageable.
