Surprisingly viral Progresso Soup Drops sell out online

Progresso has stumped the Internet with its release of Progresso Soup Drops, “soup you can suck on.”

Essentially cough drops in three familiar Progresso soup flavors (Chicken Noodle Soup, Tomato Basil Soup and Beef Pot Roast Soup), these savory suckables were first launched last January and sold out in minutes. Timed with National Soup Month, Progresso brought back its Soup Drops in three sold-out launches this month. The first release sold out in two hours, and the second in under a minute.

This year’s Soup Drops are reformulated to deliver a feeling of warmth in your mouth, according to a press release.

Trader Joe’s Annual Customer Choice Awards: See if your favorites made the cut

Jessika Gancedo posted to her TikTok on Jan. 16 a taste test of the Variety Can she purchased off the Walmart app. For $2.97, she received all three individually-wrapped Soup Drop flavors plus a can of Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup.

“I’m genuinely scared,” she said before trying the Soup Drops.

Much to her surprise, she enjoyed all three flavors. Her favorite was the tomato basil, which she said tasted like a more seasoned version of Progresso’s regular tomato soup.

“Honestly, they’re fire. If you like soup, you’ll love them,” she said of the Soup Drops.

Progresso has not yet confirmed if they’ll bring back the Soup Drops next year.
