Tyra Banks is creating what she thinks might just be America’s next top winter beverage: hot ice cream.

Described by Banks as “liquid, warm, soothing, yummy (and) silky” on the official sMiZe & DREAM TikTok account, this confusing concoction, dubbed “Hot Mama,” isn’t just melted ice cream, according to a press release. While this hot ice cream was initially announced to be available for just one week at Banks’ flagship ice cream shop in Sydney, Australia, a press release sent Oct. 9 confirms it will soon be available in New York.

“First we question it, then we crave it. That’s the natural rhythm of a lot of innovation,” Banks said in a press release. “So yes, Hot Mama makes some people tilt their heads — and that’s exactly where the magic starts.”

Tiramisu takeover: This old-school dessert is going viral with new spins

One TikTok user who goes by the name hannahoopope posted a video Oct. 5 asking, “Is anyone else on Tyra Banks hot ice cream Tok? Tyra Banks seems to be terrorizing the people of Australia with a ‘new’ invention she calls hot ice cream.” In four days, the user’s TikTok video has amassed one million views.

Banks calls the drink “reimagined ice cream” in a press release, and said that it’s taken more than a year to develop the recipe. Heating standard ice cream bases resulted in a drink that was “sticky, gloopy or too thin,” Banks said. So the team experimented with different ratios of fats, sugars and stabilizers to create “a dessert that’s scientifically sound yet sensorially magical,” according to the press release.

So where exactly will this hot ice cream be available? sMize & DREAM has not announced exact details but said that it’s “now in conversation with select venues and brands…from iconic department stores and fashion cafes to museums, hotels, and culinary collaborations.”
