Buffalo Wild Wings unveils a wing-flavored protein martini

Buffalo Wild Wing’s espresso ‘Proteini’ is available only through Sunday

Pro-bros and muscle mommies listen up: You can now drink your gains while getting sloshed.

The high-protein trend may have gone too far with the newest launch from Buffalo Wild Wings — a protein martini.

The chicken-wing chain is launching its first-ever Espresso Proteini on Friday. The $12 cocktail offers a whopping 10 grams of protein and comes rimmed and infused with Buffalo Dry Rub, “making it an unexpectedly delicious and satisfying sip,” according to a company representative. It’s made with Muscle Milk Protein Powder and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

One of B-Dubs Espresso Proteinis has the same protein content as two hard-boiled eggs, ½ cup of Greek yogurt or four ounces of tofu. Throw back six of these, and a 165-pound person will have reached their protein goals for the whole day — and be seriously tipsy.

“The Espresso Proteini is inspired by the classic espresso martini, but it offers a unique twist,” a company representative wrote in an email. “Infused and rimmed with our signature Buffalo Dry Rub, it delivers a bold, savory flavor that gives the drink a signature Buffalo Wild Wings flair.”

Buffalo Wild Wings is also offering a $19.99 bundle that includes the Espresso Proteini and six boneless wings. But hurry: The Espresso Proteini is only available through Sunday, which is National Espresso Martini Day.

Buffalo Wild Wings is one of many chain eateries to jump on the high-protein craze, with Chipotle recently launching a high-protein menu, Starbucks releasing high-protein lattes, Shake Shack debuting its Good Fit menu, Jack in the Box launching new protein bowl flavors, El Pollo Loco curating a Protein Packed menu, Dunkin’ adding protein milk to the menu and Blaze Pizza debuting its Protein-zza.
