Yelp names ‘Top 100 Sandwich Shops’ in the US

There was perhaps no greater authority on sandwiches than John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. But since he’s long been dead, we’ll have to rely on Yelp to identify the best places to chow down on Reubens, heroes and hoagies.

Ahead of National Sandwich Month in August, Yelp has compiled its very first list of the “Top 100 Sandwich Shops” in the country, based on the ratings and reviews of Yelp’s community of contributors. Among the top-rated eateries in the country, Yelp’s analysts identified dozens of delis and loads of lunch counters with large volumes of five-star reviews.

The No. 1 spot went to Frankie’s Deli Warehouse, an unassuming sandwich shop on the edge of a strip mall in Hialeah, Florida.

“The food is excellent,” wrote one customer in a recent Yelp review. “The service is excellent and they make you feel like family when you buy a sandwich.”
