Why drink a chocolate milkshake when you can treat yourself to a fancy Dubai chocolate milkshake?
Natalie Mercado, CEO of Sweetera & Co., a Massachusetts-based milkshake and dessert trailer, stopped by the studios of Nexstar’s WWLP to share her recipe for the leveled-up treat in honor of National Milk Chocolate Day on July 28.
“It’s decadent, it’s elegant, it’s delicious, not quite nutritious, but it gets the job done,” Mercado said.
Mercado recommends making the Dubai chocolate milkshake with full-fat ice cream.
“I think if you’re already going to eat a milkshake, who really needs to worry about the calories?” she said.

The Dubai chocolate food trend began in 2023, when a chocolate bar from Dubai-based Fix Dessert Chocolatier went viral on social media. The chocolate bar was stuffed with a mixture of pistachio, crispy katafi and tahini.
Since then, the Dubai chocolate trend grew beyond chocolate bars to become its own distinct flavor combination used in all types of desserts. (For example, Crumbl introduced a Dubai chocolate cookie and Shake Shack launched its own Dubai chocolate milkshake.)
