If you were hoping to snag a special, elegant treat from McDonald’s ahead of Valentine’s Day, you may be out of luck.
The fast food chain previously announced it was releasing its first-ever McNugget Caviar kits, featuring premium Baerii Sturgeon caviar through a partnership with Paramount Caviar.
According to McDonald’s, the kits include everything you need for an “upscale celebration”:
- A 1-ounce tin of McNugget Caviar
- $25 Arch Card to purchase Chicken McNuggets
- Crème fraîche and a Mother of Pearl caviar spoon
The best part? The kits were entirely free of charge.

The caviar kits were available on a special website, McNuggetCaviar.com, starting at 11 a.m. ET Tuesday. However, many fans flocking to the site were quickly disappointed. Within minutes, the site crashed, Nexstar’s WDCW witnessed. When the site returned, potential customers found all the kits had been claimed.
“What a disappointment your caviar promo was,” a user on X said in a post that tagged McDonald’s, explaining that they encountered an error “until it finally showed sold out.”
“I was on 10 [minutes] before and watched it countdown to bust,” another user wrote.
Others called it a “total rip off,” “a joke,” and “a total let down.”
In a statement obtained by WDCW, McDonald’s said, “Unfortunately, our McNugget Caviar was everyone’s Valentine this year, and has flown off the shelves. However, you can also elevate your McNuggets with our sweet and spicy Hot Honey sauce for a limited time. Try it today at your local McDonald’s.”
