Your favorite circular foods are getting steeply discounted – and even free – in celebration of Pi Day on Saturday. Pizza, pies and even doughnuts are dropping in price this weekend.
National Pi Day was founded in 1988 by physicist Larry Shaw at San Francisco’s Exploratorium to celebrate the constant relationship between a circle’s circumference and its diameter, known as pi (π). Often rounded to 3.14 (hence, March 14), pi is considered infinite since the decimal representation is endless.
