Shake Shack releases a Masters-inspired Pimento Cheese menu

Shake Shack is giving a nod to a famous Masters menu item with its limited-time Pimento Cheese menu

The 2026 Masters Golf Tournament is happening from April 6-12 at the Augusta National Golf Club, a time-honored tradition dating back to 1934. The Masters is an event full of traditions from the Green Jacket for the winner to the high-demand merch to legendary pros hitting the opening shots each year. But no tradition gets as much hype as the event’s food menu — notoriously low-priced fan favorites that people wait to order all year. Shake Shack is hopping on one of the most iconic Masters food items with its limited-time Pimento Cheese menu, and you don’t have to head all the way to Augusta to try it.

Pimento is kind of a huge deal in the south – IYKYK. Since most of us won’t be attending the Masters in person, it’s very cool of Shake Shack to roll out its Clubhouse Pimento Cheese menu featuring a Clubhouse Pimento Cheese Burger and Clubhouse Pimento Cheese Chicken Sandwich. Shake Shack put their own spin on the classic southern cheese spread by replacing the pimento peppers with chopped cherry peppers.

Sadly, they are not a mere $1.50 like the pimento cheese sandwiches on the Masters menu — you can expect your sandwich to cost around $9.99 depending on your location. However, you can save a little by grabbing the sandwiches from April 9-12 when the chain is offering a buy one, get one (BOGO) deal using the code PIMENTO on the Shake Shack app or website, or just ordering in store. If you order at a Shake Shack store in person, you can also ask for a side of pimento cheese for only $1.99.

Why is pimento cheese such a big deal for the Masters? It’s all about tradition. Until around 2007, the pimento cheese used for the $1.50 pimento cheese sandwiches offered on the tournament’s menu came from Aiken, S.C. caterer Nick Rangos. The club then switched vendors to an Augusta restaurant called Wife Saver, owned by Ted Godfrey, who spent months working on his own version of the pimento recipe. In 2012, the Augusta National chairman decided they needed to use all in-house folks to make their food and parted ways with Godfrey and his now-perfected pimento blend, basically begging him to give them his pimento recipe, which he refused to share. If you want to go down that rabbit hole (and find out how to get yourself some of Godfrey’s legendary pimento) you can find out here.
