Chipotle is giving away 53,000 burritos for the NBA Finals. Here’s how to snag one

Who wouldn’t love a nationwide giveaway of 53,000 free burritos?

Chipotle Mexican Grill announced the giveaway as part of a promotion tied to the 2026 NBA Finals matchup between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. The promotion, called “53 Years. 53 Real Ingredients,” links the Finals to a shared milestone from 53 years ago: The year 1973 marked the Knicks’ last championship season and the start of San Antonio’s professional basketball era.

As mentioned above, Chipotle’s “53 Years. 53 Real Ingredients” campaign is also a reference to the 53 ingredients Chipotle lists as the only components used to craft its food items.

Here’s how the giveaway works

tephanie Perdue was quoted as saying in a news release. “Giving away 53,000 free burritos is our way of bringing that story to life for fans.”

Fans can redeem one of the free burritos by paying attention to Chipotle’s X account immediately after the final game of the Finals: Chipotle will post a text‑to‑win code on X, and the first 53,000 people to text that code to 888‑222 will receive the free entrée offer, the company said.

The NBA Finals will air exclusively on ABC, with all games starting at 8:30 p.m. ET. The series is also available to stream on Fubo.
