Margaritas on the bar at Chili's

National Tequila Day freebies and deals: Chili’s, Applebee’s and more

$1 margaritas, $5 shots and free Cuervo to celebrate

Not only is it Friday, but it’s also National Tequila Day! TGIF indeed. Restaurants and tequila brands are celebrating with discounted margaritas, bargain-priced shots, queso specials and even a rebate offer that reimburses your margarita purchase if you order it with Cuervo. Meet at the bar after work?

The deals span from Applebee’s to Chili’s, Abuelo’s, participating Margaritaville locations and more. And there are probably deals at local restaurants and bars near you, so be on the lookout for those, too.

Alcohol promotions are limited to customers 21 and older, and availability may vary because of local laws and franchise participation. Check with your nearest restaurant before making plans, remember that tax and gratuity are usually not included. And always arrange a sober ride if the celebration involves more than queso.

9 deals for National Tequila Day

Abuelo’s

All day July 24, Abuelo’s is serving up La Grandeza Margarita for just $5 in the regular size, or $8 if you order it grande. You can get your margaritas on the rocks or frozen.

Applebee’s

Applebee’s isn’t celebrating National Tequila Day, per se. But it’s a great place to go for the holiday, because the Dollarita is back this month only. Applebee’s iconic $1 margarita is available all July long when you dine in at locations nation-wide, so not only can you celebrate National Tequila Day in style, you can do it at a great value.

Chili’s

Chili’s has three great deals for National Tequila Day: a $5 Tequila Classic Marg, the $6 Margarita of the Month (currently a Bombshell Marg, made with premium tequila, Triple Sec, Monin® Dragonfruit, strawberry puree, and house-made sour), or a $7 Patron Frozen Marg.

Top-shelf tequila shots are only $5, and all day, you can get bowls of Queso, Queso Compuesto, Lil’ Chuy Gooey, or Boom Boom Pow for $5 each.

Cuervo

Thanks to Jose Cuervo, you can get a marg on the house today (in a way). Just order a Cuervo pour or cocktail on July 24, save the receipt and submit it through the brand’s Summer Fridays reimbursement page. Cuervo will return the purchase price (up to $10) through PayPal or Venmo while the promotion’s rebate supply lasts. The offer is open to customers 21 and older in participating states.

At Margaritas, you can celebrate the day with a $3 jumbo upgrade on any Original or House Margarita. Adding strawberry, raspberry, mango or another flavor costs an additional $2. Other specials include $20 Clase Azul Margaritas, $10 Cantaritos made with Gran Centenario tequila and $6 shots of 1800 or Cuervo Tradicional.

Margaritaville

Participating Margaritaville restaurants are turning National Tequila Day into a long weekend, which is exactly the type of energy this holiday needs. From July 24 through July 26, participating restaurants are offering $5 Patrón Sidecars (while supplies last), $7 chips and salsa and $9 chips and queso, plus chicken tinga and carnitas tacos as specials.

Plucker’s Wing Bar

Not only is it National Tequila Day, but it’s also Plucker’s anniversary week — which means double the celebration. Today, July 24, Plucker’s is offering $5 fried cheese and $5 Frozen Regular-ritas.

Twin Peaks

Participating Twin Peaks locations are celebrating with four discounted tequila cocktails on July 24: The Peaks Margarita is $5, the House Margarita is $6, and both the Tequila Sunrise and Twin Peaks Barrel Select Margarita are $7.
