Turn sweet summertime watermelon into a thirst-quenching beverage sure to make you thirsty for seconds.
Meaning “fresh water” in Spanish, an agua fresca is a chilled beverage made from blending water and sweetener with fruit — in this case, watermelon.
“It’s kind of a watermelon milkshake,” David Brooks, from the Made in Oklahoma Coalition, told Nexstar’s KFOR.

Watermelon agua fresca
Yields: 7 servings
Ingredients
Instructions

Cut watermelon in half and remove the flesh from the center. Cut into 2-inch pieces.

In a blender, mix half of the watermelon and 1 cup of water until smooth.

Pour through a strainer and discard any solid pieces.

Repeat with the rest of the watermelon.

Stir in lime juice and honey and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Serve chilled over ice.
