Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte is back, but the new fall drinks may steal the show
Starbucks has set the unofficial first day of fall: Aug. 25, when the Pumpkin Spice Latte will return to menus nationwide. The weather may still say “summer,” but the return of the PSL means it’s sweater-slash-spooky season, once again.
Every year, fans of the PSL wait with bated breath to hear about the return of the drink that ushers in fall. But this year’s announcement came with some stiff competition for pumpkin loyalists. In addition to the pumpkin spice latte, which combines espresso and steamed milk with pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and whipped cream topping, Starbucks is bringing back some familiar fall favorites and tasty sounding new additions to the fall menu.

Starbucks announces fall beverage lineup
The latte isn’t the only drink getting a pumpkin spice upgrade for fall. An expanded lineup of pumpkin drinks, including the new Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso, Pumpkin Spice Chai and Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha will be available. Returning pumpkin treats, including the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai and Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino will also be on the menu. If you’ve never tried one of Starbucks’ sweet cream cold brews, consider this your sign to do that. They’re pretty good.
Pecan is Starbucks’ other flavor of fall. Pecan favorites, including the Pecan Cortado, Iced Pecan Crunch Latte and Pecan Crunch Latte will be back. And, brand new this season is a lineup of banana beverages inspired by freshly baked banana bread: the Iced Banana Bread Latte and Iced Banana Bread Chai. Dunkin’ went a little “bananas” with a recent menu, so maybe Starbucks is following suit.
But what will likely be the most anticipated beverage is the the new Chaider, which combines cider and chai tea spices in hot and iced drinks.

Starbucks announces fall food lineup
For fall food, the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin will return, alongside a new Chicken Bacon Protein Pocket and an adorable-sounding new Hedgehog Cake Pop fans (and their kids) will likely love.
All the new fall eats and drinks will arrive at Starbucks locations nationwide on Aug. 25. If you can’t wait that long, though, you can enjoy pumpkin spice flavors from Starbucks’ at-home coffee line year-round.
