Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups have undergone several iterations, from the holiday shapes to their recent mash-up with another beloved snack. But their spinoff snack, Reese’s Pieces, has been largely the same for years. That’s changing.
For the first time in a decade, there’s a new version of Reese’s Pieces coming to the market.

The Hershey Company announced Wednesday that it is launching Reese’s Pieces with Chocolate Cookies. The new product “combines the brand’s iconic creamy peanut butter flavor with a crispy chocolate cookie center,” a press release said.
Pouches of Reese’s Pieces with Chocolate Cookies will be available nationwide on July 17. King-size pouches are expected to be available later this year.

“Reese’s has always been known for its signature peanut butter and chocolate combination, and with this innovative product, we’re excited to give consumers a fresh way to experience it,” Melissa Blette, the senior brand manager for Reese’s, said in a press release.
Reese’s Pieces have been around since the 1970s. They received a popularity boost with the help of Steven Spielberg’s “E.T,” released in 1982. Records show that Reese’s Pieces with Nuts and Mini Reese’s Pieces were once available, but the candy has largely remained the same since its creation. You can also find them stuffed into the Reese’s Outrageous bar.
