Adults can bring old-school BOOK IT! pins to Pizza Hut June 10 for a free personal pizza
Now that school is officially out for the summer and kiddos are spending their every waking moment outdoors (or, more likely, scrolling on TikTok), the last thing on their minds is completing their summer reading. Unless your kid is a brainiac who prefers diving into a good novel over catching up on the latest viral dance trends, trying to get your mini-me to actually crack open a book and turn a few pages can almost feel like pulling teeth. Fortunately, Pizza Hut brought back its famed BOOK IT! program to help make the often arduous task of getting your little one to put down the screen and get lost in the pages of a fantastical story even easier by rewarding them with free pizza. And for one day only, you can get in on the action too.
On Wednesday, June 10, Pizza Hut is taking a trip down memory lane by offering anyone who brings in a BOOK IT! pin from any year a free one-topping personal pan pizza. That means whether you’re a big kid from the ’80s or you happen to have been born after the turn of the millennium, you can score a free pizza without even having to complete a new book. The only caveat is that you must present your button at the time of purchase.
Of course, if you don’t happen to have one, this won’t be your only opportunity to celebrate with Pizza Hut this summer as the brand kicks off its Summer of Hut Originals, a campaign focused on honoring the fans that helped turn the iconic red-roofed pizza palace into everything it is today. To commemorate the occasion, the brand is taking a trip down memory lane by retrofitting 150 dine-in stores across the country into “Pizza Hut Classic” locations. Think those iconic nubbly red plastic cups, red-and-white checkered tablecloths, Tiffany-style lamps, vintage vinyl booths, and classic arcade games. We can practically smell the Italian sausage in the air.
The chain is also partnering with General Mills and Box Tops for Education for the first time ever to give families an easy way to support local schools. Families who purchase Pizza Hut’s BOOK IT! Family Meal — which includes one medium one-topping pizza and two one-topping Personal Pan Pizzas for $14.99 — and scan their receipt, can earn Box Tops for eligible schools. How’s that for a summer of fun?
