Trader Joe’s insulated mini totes are dropping soon
If you’re a Trader Joe’s fan, you probably already know about the totes. Back in 2024, TJ’s dropped reusable canvas tote bags (a very normal thing for a grocery store to sell) and had them available for just $2.99 at most U.S. store locations. But they went mega viral around the world — and resold internationally for up to $50,000 a pop. So when we heard new Trader Joe’s insulated mini totes were coming this year, we started preparing for them to be the accessory of the summer.

Trader Joe’s told SavorNation that Summer Fun Mini Insulated Totes will arrive Wednesday, May 20, and they will be available in stores nationwide for $3.99 each. They measure 10-by-6-by-6 inches, hold 1.5 gallons and have a zipper top, plus two reinforced handles. Trader Joe’s also noted that they work nicely as lunch totes for school or work, which is a very practical use for something people are absolutely going to treat like a collector’s item, if history is any indication.
What sets the new totes apart from the viral canvas minis is the insulated material, which is, on its own, enough to make them more useful (and more summery). They’re still small and Trader Joe’s branded, but think of packing them with a picnic or drinks to bring to the beach or pool. Good timing, TJ’s.
So will these bags be as popular as the OG mini totes, which often sold out before the grocery chain even had a chance to really promote them? Only time will tell, but here’s our advice anyway: If you want to snag a Summer Fun Mini Insulated Tote, go early, check with your local store and do not assume they’ll still be there after work. Supplies are limited, which means “act fast.”
