About this recipe

Kimberly McCune Gibson, owner of The Hive & Honey Hill and author of “The Wisdom of Bees,” is sharing her recipe for hot honey pimento cheese dip. It’s an easy and cost-effective recipe that’s great for Easter or a game.

“The sharper your cheese, the better,” she said. “And why not support a local company?”

Mike’s Hot Honey is coming to coffee and cocktails

McCune Gibson recommends draining the pimentos overnight and says that you can even make this dip the night before.

“You could serve this with anything,” she said, noting it goes well with crackers, veggies and chips.

Ingredients

Hot Honey Pimento Cheese Dip

Directions

Hot Honey Pimento Cheese Dip

  1. Shred cheese on a box grater, then add to a large mixing bowl along with softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and hot honey.
  2. Blend using a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth.

Tip TIP: Do not use a food processor.

  3. Stir in drained pimentos, then taste and adjust salt and pepper.
  4. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes or up to overnight before serving.
  5. Before serving, bring to room temperature so it spreads easier, then drizzle with more hot honey and serve with crackers, tortilla chips and fresh cut vegetables.
