Are there too many Keurigs? Maybe. But in our testing we found that these all really did hit differently for different needs.
If you’re looking to make hot drinks as quickly and easily as possible, choosing a Keurig machine is a no-brainer. Using the prefilled pods, known as K-cups, these handy coffee makers don’t need much time or skill in order to whip up a tasty cup of coffee. It’s this ease and convenience that makes them so ubiquitous in homes and businesses.
But since there are so many to choose from, take a minute to consider the right one for your needs. There are slim compact options that are great for dorms and kitchens with limited counter space. The larger models with bigger reservoirs ensure that you don’t have to worry about filling up the reservoir every time you drink a cup. And there are even machines that tackle cappuccinos and lattes all with the same pods you’d use for coffee.
To find the best Keurig coffee makers, we tested the most popular models and spoke to coffee expert Tim Hopfinger Lee, the founder of Tim’s Coffee. Based on all this research, our top all-around choice is the versatile Keurig K-Express for its compact, easy-to-use design and consistent brew temperatures.

Keurig K-Express Coffee Maker
Editors’ Favorite
Dimensions: 12.8” D x 4.56” W x 12.6” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 42 oz | Cup Size Options: 8, 10, 12 oz
A super-slim option, the Keurig K-Express Coffee Maker is one of the smallest and lowest-priced Keurig machine currently on the market, slightly narrower and significantly shallower than even the K-Slim. It can fit in most of the places the K-Mini can, but with more features and capabilities.
The K-Express is a full-fledged K-Pod coffee maker. Unlike the K-Mini, the K-Express comes with a 42-ounce removable reservoir that can hold about five 8-ounce servings’ worth of water.
Also, unlike the K-Mini, it can brew larger-sized servings of 10 and 12 ounces, and brew them stronger for a more robust flavor.
It’s also travel-mug friendly, with a detachable drip tray allowing mugs up to 7.4 inches in height to fit. It turns itself off after five minutes of inactivity and even has a high-altitude setting to compensate for lower boiling points.
Keurig K-Mini Coffee Maker
Great Value
Dimensions: 11.3” D x 4.5” W x 12.1” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 12 oz | Cup Size Options: 6 to 12 oz
Anyone without much counter space will appreciate that the Keurig K-Mini Coffee Maker is just 4 and a half inches wide. It’s a little deeper than others, but it’s still a great space saver. During our testing, we found it extremely simple to use. You just add as much water to the reservoir as you want in your cup (up to 12 ounces), slot the pod into place, close the top and it starts brewing.
We found it took anywhere from one minute and 45 seconds to two minutes and 15 seconds to brew a drink. This includes the warm-up time, since this machine has a single-cup reservoir and needs to heat the water every brew. The time differences are likely due to the quantity of water or its temperature when it hits the reservoir.
All told, this is a solid Keurig coffee machine for an affordable price. Cleaning it was easy, taking just a couple minutes. Though we thought it felt slightly flimsy, the coffee was decent and the same quality we’d had from other Keurigs.
Keurig K-Elite Single-Serve Coffee Maker
Best for Premium Features
Dimensions: 9.9” D x 13.1” W x 12.7” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 75 oz | Cup Size Options: 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 oz
While the Keurig K-Elite Single-Serve Coffee Maker is one of the more expensive Keurig machines on the market, it’s worth it for anyone who wants more control over their brew. You can pick from five cup sizes between 4 and 12 ounces, which offers you more flexibility than cheaper alternatives. There’s also a Strong setting for those who find regular strength too watery. There’s even an option to brew iced coffee.
We love that you can adjust the brew temperature on the K-Elite between 187 and 192 degrees. This lets you brew lighter roasts at a higher temperature to get the most out of their flavors while choosing a lower temperature for dark roasts so they aren’t over-extracted and bitter.
This is our top choice of Keurig for heavy use or multiple users. The 75-ounce water reservoir holds enough for six 12-ounce cups or 18 4-ounce cups, and the machine had no problems brewing multiple cups of joe back to back. If you’re willing to spend extra, this option makes better-tasting coffee than other Keurigs we tested.
Keurig K-Mini Mate
Smallest Keurig
Dimensions: 9.34” D x 3.94” W x 9.46” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 12 oz | Cup Size Options: Up to 12 oz
If you’ve been waiting for a compact yet versatile Keurig, chances are that the Keurig K-Mini Mate will impress you. At around 9 inches deep, 4 inches wide and just over 9 inches high, this is the smallest Keurig coffee maker yet. However, it brews delicious hot coffee and other beverages in seconds, just like its larger counterparts.
Compatible with K-Cups, the K-Mini Mate has a 12-ounce reservoir that can be removed for filling and cleaning. It’s compatible with travel cups and is simple to operate and clean. It’s also one of the most affordable models available.
If you like a lot of extras, this K-Mini Mate may not be for you. But what it lacks in features it makes up for in design and style. It’s a slim, contemporary coffee maker that doesn’t take up much space and comes in a choice of stylish colors. If you’re looking for a fast, good-looking, compact and inexpensive model, this is the best Keurig coffee maker available.
Keurig K-Slim Single-Serve Coffee Maker
Best for Travel Mugs
Dimensions: 15.2” D x 4.76” W x 12.14” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 46 oz | Cup Size Options: 8, 10, 12 oz
The Keurig K-Slim Single-Serve Coffee Maker is one of Keurig’s slimmest if not smallest machines. It’s got many of the latest features of Keurig machines, including Multistream technology that uses five separate streams of water to saturate the coffee in a K-Pod, and a removable 46-ounce reservoir that’s easier to refill than nonremovable tanks.
We particularly like the K-Slim for its compatibility with tall tumblers and travel mugs. Its drip tray is removable, making space for mugs and tumblers up to 7 inches tall, and the tray itself can hold a whole serving of coffee in case of accidents.
It can make up to a 12-ounce serving from a single K-Pod and also has an auto-off function for safety. At less than 5 inches wide, it can fit in spaces ordinary coffee makers, and other full-sized Keurig machines, can’t go, while still offering up-to-date features.
Keurig K-Compact Single Serve
Best Keurig Coffee Maker for Tight Spaces
Dimensions: 13.2” D x 8.2” W x 12.5” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 36 oz | Cup Size Options: 6, 8 and 10 oz
The K-Compact fills the gap between the K-Classic and the K-Mini. It’s larger than the Mini but smaller and more affordable than the Classic. Unlike the Mini, it can hold enough water in its reservoir for multiple cups: between three and six, depending on your chosen cup size.
This coffee maker delivers coffee that tastes and smells as good as coffee from a multicup brewer, according to our tests with various pods. While it takes two and a half to three minutes to warm up initially, it brews quickly afterward: 25 seconds for a 6-ounce cup, 32 seconds for an 8-ounce cup and 42 seconds for a 10-ounce cup.
When it came to cleaning, the whole process took us around five minutes and was straightforward. Overall, it was one of our favorites from testing and deserves a spot in your kitchen!
Keurig K-Iced Coffee Maker
Best for Iced Coffee
Dimensions: 12.9” D x 5.1” W x 12.6” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 42 oz | Cup Size Options: 8, 10, 12 oz
The Keurig K-Iced Coffee Maker is expressly designed to create iced coffee. At the same time, it can make hot coffee drinks as well and is slim enough to fit in tight spaces.
The K-Iced Coffee Maker is designed around Keurig’s automatic temperature-adjustment feature. This starts out brewing hot and then reduces the temperature as it continues, lowering the overall temperature of the final serving. When prepared over a cup of ice, this results in a flavorful and refreshingly chilled iced coffee in the same amount of time as any Keurig cup.
The K-Iced has a 42-ounce water reservoir that’s removable for easier refilling. It can make drinks in three sizes, from 8 to 12 ounces, and can fit tumblers up to 7 inches tall if you need your iced coffee on the go. For a more robust flavor, you can hit the Strong option on its side-mounted buttons.
Keurig K-Brew+Chill
Best Upgrade for Iced Coffee Fans
Dimensions: 15.36” D x 9.8” W x 12.41” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 70 oz | Cup Size Options: 6, 8, 10, 12 oz
When it comes to versatility, the K-Brew+Chill is one of the best Keurig coffee makers on the market, especially for those who like both hot and cold drinks. Introduced in 2024, this machine makes delicious hot coffee beverages. What’s more, it also makes cold drinks, thanks to the innovative QuickChill technology that flash-chills brewed iced tea, coffee and more in about three minutes.
A removable 70-ounce reservoir makes numerous beverages, plus it’s easy to fill and clean. It provides a choice of 6-, 8-, 10- and 12-ounce brew sizes, so you can customize your favorite brews. Whether you want a morning cup of coffee for breakfast or a travel cup to take on the go, this coffee maker has you covered.
This machine also creates amazing flavors, as it has multistream technology that brings out the most of your favorite K-Cups. This unique technology completely saturates the grounds to deliver beverages with robust taste.
Keurig K-Duo
Most Versatile
Dimensions: 12.9″ D x 11.1″ W x 12.7″ H | Material: Plastic, glass | Water Reservoir Capacity: 72 oz | Cup Size Options: 6, 8, 10, 12 oz
While Keurig machines are known for their single-serve brewing ease, there’s something to be said for the venerable drip machine and its glass carafe, especially when serving a crowd. The Keurig K-Duo Hot & Iced Single Serve & Carafe Coffee Maker (Gen 2) combines both kinds of coffee maker in a single convenient machine.
The K-Duo is a single Keurig coffee maker with both a drip coffee carafe and a K-Cup receptacle. You can brew up to 12 cups of regular drip coffee in the carafe, and also use the K-Cup side for 6- to 12-ounce single servings of coffee, with both sides sharing a removable 72-ounce water reservoir.
The K-Duo uses Keurig’s Multistream technology for better saturation and extraction from K-Pods. It offers options for a stronger brew or hotter temperature, and it can also brew iced coffee if desired. It features front-mounted controls and display, and also offers automation so you can program your brew up to 24 hours in advance.
Keurig K-Supreme Single-Serve Coffee Maker
Small Footprint, Large Reservoir
Dimensions: 12.02” D x 6.36” W x 12.15” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 66 oz | Cup Size Options: 6, 8, 10, 12 oz
One of Keurig’s top models, the Keurig K-Supreme Single-Serve Coffee Maker brings a more elevated style and function to the Keurig world with a removable, repositionable water reservoir, updated lines and added capabilities.
The K-Supreme’s 66-ounce reservoir is big enough for eight servings of 8-ounce coffee, and can be repositioned either behind or beside the main unit according to your space. It’s compatible with all K-Pod types and brews with Multistream technology, using five separate water streams for improved saturation and aroma compared to older Keurig models.
The K-Supreme can brew four different serving sizes from a 6-ounce shot to a 12-ounce mug. You can specify whether you want your coffee brewed stronger with the push of a button, and you can also make iced coffee if you desire. You can even brew multiple cups back-to-back without needing to wait for reheating the water. The K-Supreme fits up to 7-inch travel mugs as well.
Keurig K-Classic Coffee Maker
Classic Design
Dimensions: 9.8” D x 13.3” W x 13” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 48 oz | Cup Size Options: 6, 8 and 10 oz
The Keurig K-Classic Coffee Maker was a favorite during testing. We found it easy to set up and a breeze to use. We liked that there are just five buttons on the body of the unit. Three control the cup size, one turns the machine on and off, and the last enables or disables the auto-off function.
We appreciate the auto-off function for saving power, but it’s nice to be able to disable it when you want drinks throughout the day without waiting for the machine to warm up.
Speaking of warming up, it took four to five minutes for this Keurig to reach the correct temperature for use, which can be frustrating when you want your morning coffee. However, once at temperature, it only took around a minute to brew coffee.
Overall, this is a great mid-range choice that will suit most buyers. While some might be willing to pay more for a larger reservoir for brewing back-to-back coffees or others might prefer a cheaper, more compact model, this ticks all the right boxes for the average user.
Keurig K-Cafe Coffee Maker
Best Keurig Coffee Maker for Milk Drinks
Dimensions: 14.1” D x 17.3” W x 14.4” H | Material: Plastic | Water Reservoir Capacity: 60 oz | Cup Size Options: Shot and 6, 8, 10 and 12 oz
The K-Cafe is your gateway to specialty drinks at home. Beyond brewing classic cups in sizes from 6 to 12 ounces, it packs an extra punch with its strong brew setting, making it ideal for folks who prefer their coffee black. Paired with the built-in milk frother, it’s capable of making specialty drinks like lattes as well.
Whip up creamy foam from dairy or your favorite non-dairy alternatives, such as oat or almond milk, to create barista-worthy drinks in a flash. Cleanup is a breeze, too, thanks to the dishwasher-safe frother cup.
