Krispy Kreme’s doughnut give-away will take the sting out of daylight saving time
Most of us have a love hate relationship with Daylight Saving Time. Losing an hour of sleep is never a good way to start a Monday, but gaining that extra daylight so it isn’t dark outside by the time the workday ends is a definite perk. Thankfully, Krispy Kreme has our backs and is offering a free treat to make daylight saving time a little sweeter (pun intended). The popular chain is offering a free dozen of its ridiculously tasty Original Glazed with the purchase of a dozen, and that’s just a deal too good to pass up, even if you’re rubbing sleep from your eyes in the checkout line.

“Daylight saving time can leave people running on one less hour of sleep,” a representative from Krispy Kreme tells Savor Nation. “We’re helping everyone bounce back in one of the sweetest ways we know how – a free Original Glazed dozen when guests buy any dozen.”
If you’ve ever walked by a Krispy Kreme while the “Hot Light” was on, you know this is probably the best way to overcome the “spring forward” doldrums. Walk inside, take a deep, sugary breath and know that you’re about to improve your day.
Since the deal means ending up with two dozen doughnuts, there are a few ways you could go. Be the Monday hero at the office or the favorite parent at your child’s school by walking in amid a cloud of fresh doughnut fumes. Or just bring your family a ton of doughnuts and consider dinner taken care of. It’s daylight saving time. If you have kids, it’s perfectly acceptable to give them a pile of glazed doughnuts for dinner when you’re low on sleep and have no idea what time it is.
