Panera snowman glass cups

Panera comes for Starbucks with their own glass Snowman Cups

Panera is taking a page out of Starbucks’ marketing book. On Nov. 5, the chain announced its own collectible glass Snowman Cups, arriving Dec. 3. They come in mystery boxes (a little on the nose, don’t you think?), so you won’t know which of the two designs you got until you open one.

You can buy the cup online at The Panera Shop for $25 or try to get one free with a qualifying purchase at a participating Panera. But “free” comes with some fine print: each participating cafe will have only 12 cups to give away.

How to get Panera’s glass Snowman Cups

The giveaway takes place on Dec. 3, and you’ll need to be one of the first 12 customers to spend at least $25 on a qualifying purchase at the cashier inside a participating U.S. cafe. The total excludes taxes, rewards, discounts, and Sip Club redemptions. The offer is limited to one cup per person and can’t be combined with other coupons or offers.

Note: You have to order at the cash register to get the mystery box. According to the press release, this promotion excludes all Kiosk, Rapid Pick-Up®, drive-thru, catering, delivery orders, and orders placed on third-party sites. If you can’t make it in time, a limited number of cups will also be available Dec. 3 at Shop.PaneraBread.com for $25 each. Each mystery box contains one glass cup, not both designs.

What’s on Panera’s holiday menu?

You don’t have to wait until December for the drinks and treats. Panera says its holiday menu is arriving this week at bakery-cafes nationwide. Here’s what’s on the menu:

  • Peppermint White Mocha: This one is for the peppermint bark fans. Panera pairs white chocolate and peppermint with peppermint bark pieces on top. It comes as a latte or Frozen Java with whipped cream, or an iced coffee with sweet cream cold foam.
  • Pistachio White Mocha: If peppermint isn’t your thing, this drink combines white chocolate and pistachio, topped with pistachio pieces. You can get it as a latte, iced coffee, or Frozen Java, with the same toppings: cold foam for the iced coffee and whipped cream for the other two.
  • Cocoa Marshmallow Cake Slice: This new dessert features swirls of chocolate and marshmallow cake, topped with chocolate chips and marshmallow bark. It’s like hot cocoa in cake form.
  • Mitten Cookie: The iced shortbread cookie is back for the holidays. If you’re already stopping for coffee, a mitten-shaped cookie probably isn’t a hard sell.
