Little Caesars is dropping pizzas via drone if you’re into that sort of thing
If it feels like AI and robots are taking over everything these days, it might be because they are. Even pizza delivery is not immune to the siren call of technological progress, and Little Caesars is leading the charge with a test program involving drones delivering pizzas in Texas.

Drones have been around for awhile but up until now, most models weren’t capable of carrying something as heavy as enough takeout pizza to feed a family. That’s all changing thanks to a company called Flytrex and its partnership with Little Caesars. Flytrex’s Sky2 drone can carry a total capacity of 8.8 pounds for up to four miles arriving in an average of 4.5 minutes from takeoff to delivery. This means it can carry two large pizzas and sodas right to your doorstep if you live within close enough range of the test location.
“Flytrex is laser-focused on making on-demand food delivery by drone a reality for everyday families,” said Amit Regev, CEO and co-founder of Flytrex. “A big part of advancing this market is making sure people can get the food they actually want, when they want it. Until now, drones simply weren’t capable of delivering a full family meal. The Sky2 changes that. This partnership with Little Caesars expands what drone delivery can do and better meets customers’ expectations, which will drive real, lasting adoption of this technology.”

It’s kind of giving those scenes in “The Hunger Games” when fans of the Tributes could send little gifts into the arena via drones, only this time, you can just order pizza in the Flytrex app which will send it through to the Little Caesars point-of-sale system. The future is here and it’s flying pizzas directly to your front door. This is news that will either delight or horrify you, probably depending on what year you were born.
The first location to try this new tech is a Little Caesars store in Wylie, Texas. If you are local enough to give it a shot, you may be on the receiving end of a truly unique pizza delivery experience.
