Imagine running a 10k through the picturesque streets of Italy, where the prize at the end of the race isn’t some gold medal and T-shirt combo that you almost actually coughed up a lung for, but instead a heaping portion of authentic Italian tiramisu. It might sound like something out of a late-night fever dream, but that dream is about to become reality this October when Treviso, Italy, hosts the world’s very first “Tiramisu Run.” You read that right, an entire 10k dedicated to one of Italy’s most decadent exports.
The run itself will take place on Oct. 11, 2026, along a 6.5-mile course that winds past canals, cobblestone streets and Renaissance-era piazzas before finishing near the same square where the international “Tiramisu World Cup” runs all weekend. And unlike most races, this one actually encourages walking. Runners (or walkers) will work their way through a mostly flat route that starts and finishes on the historic street of Viale Bartolomeo d’Alviano. After completing the race, participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and, of course, a sizable helping of tiramisu.

Registration for the mouthwatering 10k is open now through Oct. 8, with slots available for 1,000 participants. It’s also relatively affordable compared to most 10ks, with entry fees of €18, or about $20, until Aug. 30, when the price goes up to €22, or about $24. That means the international flight will probably be the bulk of your spend, but can you really pass up a chance to enjoy one of Italy’s most iconic desserts in its literal birthplace? Yeah, we didn’t think so.
In addition to being the home of the world’s first “Tiramisu Run,” Treviso, Italy, also holds the distinction of being the place where tiramisu was first introduced to the world. As legend has it, pastry chef Speranza Bon Garatti created the original coffee-soaked ladyfinger and mascarpone cream-topped dessert in the late 1960s at Le Beccherie, a restaurant in Treviso’s historic city center. It makes the decision to host perhaps the most delicious 10k in the world here all the more sensible.
As if that wasn’t enough to get excited about, this year’s “Tiramisu Run” coincides with the 10th annual “Tiramisu World Cup,” an international dessert competition that draws pastry chefs, home bakers and dessert enthusiasts from around the world. In order to be approved as a judge for the competition, you must pass a 15-question exam on competition rules, the history of tiramisu and official evaluation criteria. Unfortunately, all of 350 judge spots sold out in just 12 hours.
On the bright side, you can still attend the festival and enjoy all the tiramisu you can handle. The competition kicks off on Oct. 9 and runs through Oct. 11, with the 10k closing out the festivities. Maybe this is the sign we needed to start working out all along.
