About this recipe
If you can’t choose between pizza or pasta for dinner, why not have both? Scott Karnes shows how to make a pizza-flavored pasta casserole in a slow-cooker.
Simply make a homemade pasta sauce with tomatoes, ground beef, mushrooms and peppers. Cook egg noodles, and mix together cheese and pepperoni in a bowl. Place a liner in the slow-cooker and use olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Layer the sauce, noodles and pepperoni-cheese mix to create a casserole, and cook for three hours.

Directions
Slow Cooker Pizza Pasta Casserole
-
Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
-
In a large skillet, cook the ground chuck, green pepper and onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks.
TIP: Drain excess fat before adding the remaining sauce ingredients.
-
Stir the spaghetti sauce, mushrooms and Italian seasoning into the beef mixture.
-
In a separate bowl, combine the pepperoni, cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese.
-
Spray the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray or use a slow-cooker liner.
TIP: This helps prevent sticking and makes cleanup easier.
-
Spread one-third of the meat sauce in the bottom of the slow cooker. Top with one-third of the noodles and one-third of the pepperoni-cheese mixture.
-
Repeat the layers two more times, ending with the cheese mixture on top.
TIP: Press down gently after each layer to compact the casserole.
-
Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours until heated through and the cheese is fully melted.
-
Serve warm.
TIP: Serve with Italian bakery bread for a complete meal.
