Here is a seriously simple salsa recipe, perfect for Cinco de Mayo, Taco Tuesday or whenever you’re craving extra flavor.

Turn leftover pasta and meatballs into Mexican soup

To make this salsa, start by charring tomatoes, tomatillos, onion and jalapeños on a stove with olive oil or in an air fryer. Then blend the charred vegetables with cilantro, seasoning, lime juice and garlic. Serve with tortilla chips or ladle on top of tacos or burritos.

  1. Roast tomatoes, tomatillos, onion, jalapeños and serrano, if using, in a pan or air fryer until charred.

    Tip TIP: Charring adds a smoky depth of flavor to the salsa.

  2. Transfer the roasted ingredients to a blender.
  3. Add cilantro, salt, pepper, chicken bouillon, lime juice and garlic.
  4. Blend until smooth and well combined.

    Tip TIP: Adjust seasoning to taste before serving.
