About this recipe

We’ve all heard the saying, “breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” but mornings can often be one of the busiest times of your day, so it can be hard to take a few minutes to grab a quick meal.

Fret no more, because today we have the perfect 60-second glazed doughnut recipe that’s perfect for anyone looking for that extra boost in the mornings to get them out the door.

A French toast casserole you can make the night before

Ingredients

Yields: 1 serving

Doughnut

Yields: 1 serving

Glaze

Directions

  1. Whisk together butter, milk, sugar and vanilla extract in a small bowl until combined.
  2. Whisk in flour and baking powder.

Tip TIP: Baking powder is baking soda that already has an acidic element to it, so that it enhances the leavening and raises it more. If you have just baking soda, add acid to it, like cocoa powder, lime juice, vinegar or cream of tartar, for the same effect of baking powder.

  3. Pour batter into a small bowl, and microwave it for 60 seconds.
  4. While the doughnut is microwaving, make the glaze. Whisk together milk, powdered sugar and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
  5. Pour the glaze on top of the microwaved doughnut. Top with sprinkles, if desired.
